Description

The Healthfirst Population Health department synthesizes industry and business trends, reviews regulatory changes and best practices, and makes informed recommendations on clinical and quality initiatives to help Healthfirst remain competitive in the health insurance industry. This department works closely with other clinical teams to help the organization achieve top quality performance on key indicators like HEDIS, QARR, and Medicare Advantage Star ratings. The Population Health Strategy Specialist leads cross-functional workgroups and projects aimed at developing solutions to help improve Healthfirst's performance on quality rating programs and deliver top quality.

  • Partners with stakeholders on cross-functional workgroups / key projects to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of key initiatives.
  • Acts a subject matter expert on assigned quality measures and methodologies, along with creating and utilizing project plans, workflows, and other quality improvement tools.
  • Acts a change agent to drive top quality, improvement and outcomes with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Analyzes data to identify data-driven opportunities for improvement and determine root causes in areas that need improvement.
  • Analyzes data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for performance improvement and clinical quality initiatives.
  • Prepares quality improvement related reports and presentations that succinctly and accurately summarize complex information, details and data.
  • Champions our culture of quality and innovation by collaborating with stakeholders and workgroups in improving processes and operations, researching and communicating industry best practices, and recognizing others for their contributions to quality.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant previous experience such as research, analytics, program development, strategic planning, and/or project management experience on clinical quality initiatives
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Experience leading cross-functional work groups
  • Healthcare experience associated with population health outcomes, quality improvement, or policy and analyzing data and making data-driven recommendations for quality improvement
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
