Description

The Senior Analyst, Internal Audit will be responsible evaluating the effectiveness and efficiencies of organizational and functional systems in order to assist management in the identification of risks and the design of effective and efficient risk management processes. The incumbent will also make recommendations to improve the adequacy, effectiveness and sustainability the internal control environment and coordinate the remediation of any issues identified. Incumbent will also coordinate the implementation of management actions plans and verify their effectiveness.

Internal Audit

  • Determine the scope, objectives and procedures for assigned audits, based upon the annual audit plan.

  • Conduct internal audits to provide assurance regarding the proper functioning of internal controls for areas within Healthfirst such as Healthcare Operations, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance and Financial Reporting.

  • Document and review all audit work papers for sufficiency and adequacy in supporting the conclusions reached.

  • Draft accurate and well-written internal audit reports summarizing audit observations and recommendations.

  • Follow up on corrective actions taken to address reported internal audit observations.

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of current Internal Audit practices and techniques

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MUST have 3 to 5 years of audit experience focused on SOX or MAR Audit Rule

  • MUST have related experience in testing of internal controls

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and/or related audit experience

  • Experience navigating and manipulating spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience creating presentations in PowerPoint

  • Experience with using Microsoft Word and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health insurance industry experience preferred

  • Experience performing ad-hoc analysis of financial and operational data beneficial

  • Experience dealing with sensitive information helpful

  • Knowledge of management information systems terminology, concepts and practices helpful

  • Ability to work independently, in a fast-paced/changing environment

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent communication (verbal, written), presentation and organization skills essential

  • Must be able to deal effectively with multiple levels of management in different organizations, and communicate with external auditors
