The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will perform functions that enable the success of key business and technical processes and practices supporting Healthfirst Enterprise Analytics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead / Manage group of analysts to effect communication of requirements between users and technology
  • Create standards, templates, best practices and policies for gathering and documenting/recording business and technical requirements
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to support the Healthfirst Enterprise Analytics strategy. Establish delivery workflows for requirements with consistent processes which will ensure high quality results and repeatable outcomes 
  • Support strategic account plans to support our Enterprise Analytics partners utilizing the Healthfirst tools and resources available across departments
  • Regularly partner with Strategic Alliances to review Enterprise Analytics project status and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Work closely with all departments to create tool kits to support various Enterprise Analytics initiatives to improve clinical, quality and member satisfaction outcomes using readily available reports.
  • Recommend changes in methods, procedures and policies to improve quality and consistency. Communicate effectively in written and verbal form. Create effective requirement documents and review them with key stakeholders at multiple levels of the department/organization.
  • Effectively manage projects by setting clear project milestones and deliverables; clearly communicating goals, objectives and responsibilities.  Actively participate in meetings to gather and specify departmental requirements for such projects.
  • Ability to identify initiatives to improve healthcare effectiveness and develop metrics to track progress.
  • Ability to understand program changes and the impact the impact on establish metrics.
  • Prepare materials needed for various meetings.  Assuring that all information is validated and accurate.
  • Manage project work and deliverables while leading the functional scope of data solutions
  • Maintain business and partner relationships and demonstrate deep understanding  in leading and handling projects to ensure successful outcomes while collaborating with IT on identifying key use cases
  • Create visualizations to produce insights from complex problem data in ways that assisted in translating organizational problem statements into actionable decision-making practices
  • Advanced knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, practices, and SQL, including the ability to write stored procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree from accredited institution or relevant experience
  • Very strong experience with Business Intelligence and analytics.
  • Deep functional understanding of data services (integrations, ETL, data visualization, advanced analytics, and cloud platforms)
  • Ability to clearly define and articulate the business impact of data and analytics
  • Leadership in the data platform and analytic space with the ability to take ownership of key solution decisions (i.e. strategic vision, architecture, technology selection)
  • Ability to run strategic projects and collaborate with executive client leadership
  • Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Scrum and JIRA
  • Experience with operational leadership; leading teams of junior resources, people management responsibilities, career development, and staffing and mentoring
  • Ability to create usable business requirements from user needs
  • Ability to convey requirements to technology and provide technical guidance for solution architecture and design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working in a Health Insurance Company with knowledge of quality or care management programs. 
  • Intermediate SAS user
  • Ability to prepare presentations for audiences at all levels of the organizations.
