We’re looking for data enthusiasts to help our Enterprise Analytics team improve the care of thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers. Our team helps drive improvements in strategy and operations through the use of analytics, data visualization, and piloting new tools and tech.

Our interns will work on one of two teams:

  • The Core Analytics team which supports analysis and data visualization to improve operations and health outcomes for our members. This team works with departments across the organization in clinical, enrollment and billing, member services, marketing, product and more
  • The Data Science team which uses supervised and unsupervised learning techniques to help  inform the strategy and decision making processes of our business partners

As a member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work with large datasets and a variety of tools and programming languages, including Tableau, Amazon Redshift, Neo4j, SQL, R, Python, and SAS.  You’ll work on projects that improve our members’ experience and quality of care (such as analyzing call center data or predicting who’s most likely to be admitted to the hospital).

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Exhibit enthusiasm,  curiosity, and the ability to think critically in solving analytic problems  and improving current processes
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and apply leading analytic tools to complete projects, which may include Tableau, Amazon Redshift, Neo4j, SQL, R, Python, and/or SAS
  • Demonstrate ownership of work product, including use of best practices in documentation, coding style and quality checks, to facilitate the reusability and scalability of your solutions. Ensure accuracy and completeness of deliverables
  • Present data outcomes and recommendations to Enterprise Analytics and other business leadership
  • Exhibit collaborative attitude in working with cross functional teams (in analytics and other business areas) to accomplish project goals
  • Additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Enrolled in Master’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Amazon Redshift, or other similar tools/platforms
  • Familiarity with healthcare data
  • Ability to understand the data lifecycle within the organization and its impact on the business
  • Balances working independently with an understanding of when to escalate with questions/issues
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in final year of undergraduate OR  graduate program at an accredited institution OR be less than 1 year post-graduation
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
